He has been shown to speak Spanish, Chinese, Penguin and Drunk and when he and Bart were imprisoned in Japan for a seemingly short amount of time due to unknowingly assaulting Emperor Akihito, he was able to speak the language fluently by the time he left. 1UP found that even though The Simpsons Game parodied numerous 2D platform game conventions, it used them anyway, making it a pointless endeavor. Criticism of the game focused on its short, uninspiring gameplay and troublesome camera system. GameSpot considered the gameplay "nothing special" while GameZone called it a "pretty shallow" game that depended too much on repetitive jumping puzzles and a weak combat system. The game disappointed IGN because it did not include an online feature and it was deemed too short.

Maggie once saved a captive Homer, who was impressed and grateful to his daughter. He has shown love for Maggie as he protected her from bullying babies in Eeny Teeny Maya, Moe and earned a hug from his daughter who punched out a baby that knocked him down. Homer later saved her from being carried off by a bald eagle and made sure to hold her close, while punching the bird so it wouldn't try to take her again. Homer has been depicted as friends with Monty Burns on many occasions, such as when they got drunk together at a baseball game or were on a bowling team together. On the other hand, Burns has also sworn eternal vengeance against Homer on just as many occasions, and even more so than that Burns seems to be unable to remember who Homer Simpson is despite the fact that almost all of his major life events are related in some way to Homer. Usually, Homer is afraid of Burns and acknowledges his presence with a scream, but it has been shown that once the two warm up to each other, they get along famously until Homer inadvertently does something to end the friendship.

More than a few marriages have been saved, and destroyed, by Odder Stuff. Binge-watching turns a dating ritual into a romantic Stockholm Syndrome, the bonds are as deep as the butt indentations in the cushions of the couch. Homer resists the urge to break down and binge for a long time. He endures the water cooler crowd, his own children’s taunts and Lenny’s “Odder Stuff” fan fiction in an attempt to stay true. 1d ago - After a period of upheaval, Ubisoft's editorial division is on a mission to ensure its upcoming games are well-made, relevant, and diverse.

He has incredible sway over crowds and is able to motivate people for just causes, such as shutting down the nuclear plant, and also to calm down an angry mob- something very difficult to do- such as when he prevented the destruction of Springfield's burlesque house. Like Bart, he is almost always made leader in whatever bizarre situation he comes across, although, unlike Bart, that leadership isn't always appreciated, such as when Homer becomes the leader of the Stonecutters, which shortly afterwards causes all of the members to quit. Homer has since developed into a less intelligent and meaner person in later seasons. Homer's "angry personality" still sometimes surfaces up, usually whenever getting pressured by Bart.

They decided to keep the "M", but Groening wanted Homer's ear to look like a real ear. Originally, Bart was the character the show focused on, but by Season 3 they focused more on Homer instead of him. Homer's inclusion in many Simpsons publications, toys, and other merchandise is evidence of his enduring popularity. The Homer Book, written about Homer's personality and attributes has been published and is commercially available. Numerous other items such as bottle openers, alarm clocks, and other merchandise are widely available for purchase. Homer popularized the annoyed grunt "D'oh!" (made memorable through Dan Castellaneta's distinctive voice work), which began as an abbreviated form of James Finlayson's annoyed "Dooooh" in Laurel and Hardy films and other comedy shorts.

He also suggests Homer watch the latest Chris Rock special without Marge as well. He really thinks what men are all thinking and have been since the dawn of the sitcom. The Simpsons Game Review

Each is uniquely themed and is excellently self-contained, similar to that of the Simpsons episode that it's modeled after. Not only that, but each of them has original dialogue that has been recorded by the stars of the show as well as by the supporting cast. As anyone knows, it just wouldn't be the same without the real cast members voicing the stars of the show so it's great to see that EA spent the extra dough to nab both the creators and the talent to authenticate the overall experience. As you'd expect, The Simpsons Game can largely be summarized by calling it a platformer. You'll get to play as all four characters, though typically only two will be available in a level, and those two characters are predetermined by the game.

Homer has also implied that he wouldn't mind if Bart changed 100% and that he isn't very attached to him as he is. Ned Flanders is Homer's perfect neighbor whose belongings are usually "borrowed" by Homer and never given back. Homer takes obvious advantage of his push-over neighbor and is usually an avid participant in the one-sided rivalry the two have going on, although Ned sometimes gets caught up in Homer's taunts (such as when the two pit their sons against each other in a putt-putt tournament). It has also been hinted that Homer lusts after Flanders' wife, Maude .

The game's use of The Simpsons-style humor received a mixed reception. Both GameSpot and GameTrailers said that the game delivered more than enough laughs to make it worth playing through at least once. It was considered enjoyable for both hardcore and casual The Simpsons fans by IGN and GameDaily, who also called it a particularly appealing game for diehard fans. Despite the few problems that the game had, GameSpy said that it was worth it to see the humorous parodies. Eurogamer's Tom Bramwell, however, believed that the game's humor could only carry it so far, and suggested that those interested in The Simpsons humor should purchase a box set of one of the television series' seasons instead. Joe Juba of Game Informer called the game an average experience.

Another frequent topic on Homer's obesity is his large posterior which is often joked about by Bart. While his weight is debatable, the most common weight given is 239 pounds . He wears a white polo shirt, blue jeans, white underpants, and gray loafers. The DS version of the game, which was significantly different from the other versions, received praise for its unique gameplay, but criticism for its short length. IGN lauded the DS version's unique gameplay experience and GameSpot proclaimed that it was satisfying from start to finish. GameSpot and GameZone, however, were both disappointed that the game was extremely brief.

The game is thirty minutes long and has three levels (one at the Simpson's home, one on the streets of Springfield, and one at the plant). Aesthetically the game will please fans of the series overall as there are plenty of new cinematics that articulate the storyline with the same authenticity that you see every Sunday night. There are tons of great cutscenes that show every Simpsons character in recent memory as well as other Matt Groening characters that you likely won't see coming.

Dan Castellaneta's earliest portrayal began as a loose impression of Walter Matthau, but developed into a more robust and humorous voice during late-Season 2 and Season 3, allowing Homer to convey a wider range of emotions. Castellaneta changed the voice, as he could not sustain his Matthau impression for the 9-10 hour long recording sessions and had to find something easier. During an interview with the cast of the show on Inside the Actors Studio, Castellaneta stated that Homer's voice was based in part on his own father who often spoke with an exuberant tone.

Lenny and Carl are Homer's co-workers at the Nuclear Power Plant, and they were familiar with Homer in their childhood days. They are Homer's most frequent companions at Moe's Tavern, after Barney. His house strongly resembles that of Tony Montana's house in the movie Scarface. In "The Ten-Per-Cent Solution", he starts panicking when his pants start tearing because he fears people will see his tattoo of "Donald Duck smoking a doob". Homer is right-handed, unlike most other characters, such as Bart and Ned. There was a temporary belief among fans that Homer has a disorder called Intermittent Explosive Disorder where the sufferer overreacts when angered resulting in violent outbursts and property damage. In "Marge vs. the Monorail", the news shows a picture of Homer with what appears to be a mouthful of unlit cigarettes. This joke was recreated several years later as a meme for the game Team Fortress 2 with the Spy class doing the same thing, only the cigarettes are lit.

Homer enjoys insulting Flanders and making his life more difficult, which Flanders all takes in stride. He has also acknowledged that Ned is his best friend, referring to him once as "Stupid Best Friend Flanders". Homer loves to see Flanders struggle because he perceives the Flanders' lives to be the unobtainable perfection that he will never have, and he especially loves beating Flanders, but he hates when Flanders is totally crushed.

The only thing really missing is a bona fide Treehouse of Horror tribute, though there are elements from the series of Halloween specials throughout the play experience. It would have been fine and dandy if the game simply reconstructed classic episodes and spit them out at gamers to play through but The Simpsons Game goes a step further and actually parodies tons of Hollywood and videogame properties as well. The game brings the cartoon household knowingly into their own videogame when Bart stumbles upon a game manual that has seemingly dropped from the heavens.

In his debut episode ("Bart the Murderer") in Season 3, both his jacket and handkerchief in his jacket pocket were originally a medium bluish gray coloration, his shirt was originally a light cobalt blue coloration, and his pants were originally a light forest green coloration. Then, officially starting as of Season 14, when the show switched to digital ink and paint, his shirt's neck collar color changed to dark teal green and his handkerchief's color changed to white. Additionally, in Seasons 3-13 the lines in his hair varied from black to white, with black being somewhat more common, but they have been officially consistently white since Season 14 as of to this day. Even the dark yellow shading in his eyebags underneath his eyes sometimes disappear and reappear in different shots, or even sometimes mix with the shadows' shading in lighted areas, in his episode appearances. Fat Tony is a pastiche of mobsters from movies and dramas, especially The Godfather franchise. In "Treehouse of Horror XIII", Peter Griffin appeared as one of Homer's clones. But Homer may be smarter than Peter, since in Family Guy, it is revealed that Peter is actually below mentally retarded, which of that, being below, is worse than actual mental retardation. Homer placed second on TV Guide's 2015 Top 50 Greatest Cartoon Characters, behind Bugs Bunny.

This may explain why he can so easily phase out what people are saying to him, intentionally or otherwise. Homer has shown to have near-superhuman endurance and durability, repeatedly surviving accidents that could easily kill other people. His well-padded stomach allowed him to survive direct cannon fire to the stomach with no immediate injuries, although later it was found that repeated fire had destroyed his stomach which could have killed him.

Homer then made his debut with the rest of the Simpsons clan on April 19, 1987, in the Tracey Ullman short "Good Night". Homer's middle initial "J", which was revealed to stand for "Jay", was a "tribute" to Rocket J. Squirrel and Bullwinkle J. Moose from Rocky and Bullwinkle, a show Matt Groening loved as a child. According to Matt Groening, the whole family was designed so that they would be recognizable in silhouette. Homer and Bart share the same sense of humor and adventure and therefore are almost always partners during wild escapades, such as when Homer became a truck driver or when they were arrested together in Japan. They spend a lot of time together watching TV, and although they spend a lot of time together, Homer doesn't take much of an interest in his life while Bart mostly ignores Homer. Whenever Homer does partake in a father-son activity with Bart, it is usually to beat Flanders at something, although, interestingly, Homer is truly offended when Bart gets a "big brother" to spend time with.

Even though the act of playing through the levels doesn't add anything new to the platformer genre, The Simpsons Game actually takes a new approach to tried and true gameplay by poking fun at itself through the use of attainable video game cliches. It points out the fact that all videogames have crates, bosses with overly obvious weak points, and other things of that nature. There are 31 throughout the game and they're all equally funny. It has been shown multiple times that Homer has Arachnophobia, which is a fear of arachnids . This is considered true in "Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily", where he panics when a spider appears next to his keys. Homer is also in Lego Dimensions, but you can also play as Bart Simpson and Krusty.

An experienced agent should have one or more tried-and-true strategies to employ in different scenarios. Many agents work with a team in order to maximize their availability for their clients. Knowing an agent’s area of expertise will tell you right away if they’re the right person to help you through the home buying process or with selling your house. Some agents may have more success with home buyers than when they work for sellers.

Asking questions is another way to communicate effectively with your agent. Ask questions before you sign with the agent, during the home search and after you have found your home. Write down all of the questions you have if you cannot meet with your agent right away.

how to talk to a realtor when buying a home

Buying a home, you need to ask certain your real estate agent certain questions to be sure you're choosing the right home for you. They're professionals who know what they're doing, so use them to understand the ins and outs of your potential houses. When it’s time to select an agent to work with, interview a few so you have some options. During the interview, tell them your unique home buying or selling story and ask them how they approach real estate transactions.

In other words, will you be able to sell your home fairly quickly and at a price close to what you paid? Your Realtor will be able to help you hone in on neighborhoods that will suit your lifestyle. For example, if you’re interested in having your children receive a top-notch education, your real estate agent could suggest areas that have great schools.

You also don’t want to bid too high and pay more than you need to. Among the most important factors that first-time homebuyers consider is whether it makes more financial sense to rent or buy. In locations such as Detroit in 2021, rent came in far below the average mortgage; in San Francisco, however, renters came out on top despite a high volume of first-time buyers that year. Once you have a pre-approval letter in hand, you should contact a real estate agent who can take you to see properties within your price range. You should be transparent with your realtor about your price range and provide them with the pre-approval letter from your lender.

BC MORTGAGE RATES

Asking your Realtor for reminders is helpful so you can schedule tasks to be done on time. Even if you and your Realtor have different tastes in homes, having them walk through the reasons whether a certain home is or isn’t a good purchase can be very enlightening. They may point out benefits or flaws you haven’t thought of, which could help inform your final decision. The important thing is that you establish your agent's preferred methods and find a way to work together that satisfies you both. Take your cue here from teenagers and young adults, many of whom would never dream of actually talking on a phone. Maybe you're almost always tied up with your child's homework between 7 and 8 p.m., or you can't take personal calls at work.

Following these steps will create and strengthen your real estate client relationships and build a strong foundation for your business. Now is the time to really double down, build relationships, and take your real estate career to new heights. Your client's ability to sell will be contingent on their existing mortgage.

Your needs should be a list of what you absolutely cannot live without in a house. Be upfront about your wants and needs so your realtor can easily find exactly what you are looking for in a home. If you aren’t clear with your agent from the beginning, you will waste your time looking at houses that you’ll never purchase.

How to Test for Lead in Water Updated Guide 2022

Many of the leading testing kits on the market claim to provide clear, easy-to-interpret results within 5-10 minutes. Consider scheduling a home water inspection for maximum reliability. If you're not in any particular hurry to find out what's in your home's water, call you local water supplier or utilities board and see if they offer free home testing.

Soil can become contaminated by flaking paint from older buildings, from exhaust from vehicles prior to the use of unleaded gasoline, and from former industrial sites. Checking for flaking or deteriorating paint, and looking at land use records can help to determine if your yard is at risk for contamination. • When testing several items, be sure to check each individual surface with separate swabs and drop solution mixtures in order to avoid cross-contamination of the results. Before May 2021, the CDC benchmark for lead poisoning was 5 micrograms per deciliter. Once test pits are bored at the point where the two sections meet, engineers can determine whether one or both parts of the water service line are made of lead. Engineering companies that specialize in statistically predictive modeling are hired so every water line in a municipality doesn’t have to be dug up. The cost of that would be “astronomical,” even in a small city like New London, said Lanzafame. If you are concerned about unsafe lead work creating a hazard, contact your local building department or local health department lead program.

On the other hand, avoid alcohol, sugary drinks, sodas, and sodium-rich foods as they’re only contributing to dehydration you’re trying to prevent. The best way to ensure this doesn’t happen is to drink more water throughout the day and keep your kidneys working at their optimal level. The symptoms often include confusion, dizziness, seizures, slurred speech, and loss of consciousness.

Ultimately, the CCR for your city should let you know if and how much lead is currently present in your tap water and what actions are being taken to remove it. Lead pipes still remain part of the public water supply infrastructure on a national level. What people may have thought was protection from lead exposure was actually only a reduction in it. Up until 2014, plumbing fixtures that still contained as much as eight percent of lead-by-weight could be legally labeled lead-free. This amount has since been reduced to .25 percent but increases the number of people whose homes may have lead-based pipes.

Whenever you test for lead, it is important to find out how much lead is in the paint or soil you test. Your house is near a freeway or busy roadway where leaded gasoline and its exhaust may have polluted the soil with lead. Select PayPal Credit at checkout to have the option to pay over time. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with a clean swab which will serve as a reference to help distinguish the color-change. Testing costs can range from about $15 to $100, the EPA says, depending on the lab and the extent of testing, but financial assistance may be available. However, consuming bottled water regularly puts another burden on the environment.

So, replace old pipelines, an old well pump, a lead faucet – you get it. Aging pipes and lead-rich solders are more prevalent than you think. And if you are living in a home or urban area that dates from before 1986, you will likely find at least some amount of lead is used in your plumbing. All you need to do is dip a strip of test paper into the sample of water you have collected.

One of the most stressful situations for any homeowner is wondering if your tap water contains lead. It can have significant consequences for you and your family’s health. However, it’s never been easier to test your drinking water to see if any action needs to be taken. To find out if your supplier offers this service, simply give them a call or send an email. You can usually check your city’s website for utilities and water quality pages to find the supplier’s contact information. Have your water tested to find out for certain if you have lead in your drinking water. Some states or utilities offer programs to pay for water testing and/or lead service line replacement for residents.

At-home water testing kits are a good option if you’re looking to get a basic understanding of your home’s water lead content, and they’re certainly convenient, taking just minutes to carry out. But if you want a proper indication of how clean or unclean your water is, you’ll want to consider additional tests, as these DIY kits aren’t the most comprehensive. If your results indicate low levels of lead, you should follow this up with lead testing from a certified lab. Steps taken during the last two decades have reduced exposures to lead in tap water.

In fact, it tells you precisely the concentration of lead in your water supply. Request the lab to send you a container for the water sample or ask them for details and the quantity of water they need for testing. If another dog or dogs are present in the household we require a meet and greet prior to adoption. We do not adopt our rescues out without meeting person that will be responsible - no "gift" adoptions. We contract that if cat/dog must be relinquished they are returned to us.

Reviews by previous pet owners after job completion are transparent to help with your hiring decision. Home Fur Good is a non profit no kill animal shelter located in the NE Valley. We take a majority of our cats and dogs from County, many who have treatable medical conditions and would otherwise be put down. We assess physical and behavior and work with the cats/dogs to find the best suitable match. It is our goal that each cat or dog that comes to our shelter ultimately be placed in their "furever" homes. You can also request for pet services directly from your preferred pet service providers by browsing the pet service provider directory in the app and the web.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. The staff and volunteers at Home ‘Fur’ Good provide its animals with a clean and comfortable place to sleep, nutritious food to eat, excellent medical care, daily exercise, and an overdose of love and affection.

Dogs in our care are spayed/neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. Potential adopters then undergo an application process to ensure they can provide the home each dog needs. We believe a pet is a lifetime commitment and every animal deserves a stable and loving home. HOME 'FUR' GOOD is a group of individuals who are animal lovers at heart. We have banded together to make a positive difference in the lives of homeless cats and dogs in Maricopa County. Each year, thousands of unwanted and injured animals are euthanized.
